NRA First Steps Pistol

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a specific model pistol or revolver safely. Successful completion qualifies you to apply for a Florida concealed-carry permit.  Course includes all of the Conceal Carry License Course content (2 hrs) + the NRA First Steps Pistol Course (4+ hrs). This course is 7+ hours long and includes range time (up to 1 hr). Course is designed for beginners with little to no prior experience with firearms.

*Firearm can be provided for an additional $10.00 (Does not include ammunition)

The NRA FIRST Steps Pistol course is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type.  Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.

Attendees at the above course will receive an NRA First Steps Course completion certificate and the State of Florida Concealed Carry Permit Information and Application packet. Students must provide their own handgun for the range portion of the course.  A limited number of firearms will be available for use if needed (select this option when registering).
